Description The Yogyakarta Regional Library and Archives Service has one type of static archive in the form of an architectural archive that needs to be preserved. Many architectural archives need to be appropriately maintained and have suffered physical damage. One of the preservation methods applied in this research is encapsulation, namely protecting architectural archive sheets with plastic sheets to be further managed in records and archival storage. This study uses a qualitative approach by combining the results of interviews, observations, and documentation on the condition of each architectural archive in the field. This study provides an overview of the preservation process, especially using encapsulation applied to types of architectural archives in the form of site plans (development plan maps). It does not only stop at preservation efforts, but archives must also be identified, recorded, and stored in their proper place to assist in retrieving information when needed later. Policy and technical implementation support for the institution is also an essential part of the series of collection management processes, especially in the form of this archive. The preservation method applied is encapsulation because it is appropriate for archive types in the form of sheets of paper and will not damage the archive's contents. This preservation step becomes complete later because it is followed by efforts to record and store records properly so that it will facilitate the retrieval process later.
