ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kompetensi literasi Informasi dalam proses pengembangan minat bakat siswa berbasis model empowering 8. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di MAN 2 Langkat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ini adalah metode kualitatif dan triangulasi data (observasi, FGD, dan dokumentasi) dalam proses pengumpulan data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan siswa MAN 2 Langkat secara garis besar telah menerapkan komponen model literasi empowering 8 dalam pengembangan minat dan bakatnya. Kendati demikian, terdapat kekurangan beberapa langkah yang terdapat dalam komponen model empowering 8 yang belum dilaksanakan, hal ini mendorong penguatan program kegiatan literasi informasi di sekolah untuk membentuk siswa yang mampu mengeksplorasi informasi secara efektif serta menggunakan informasi secara etis, sehingga karya, konten, dan informasi baru yang dihasilkan dapat menjadi lebih berkualitas. ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the competence of information literacy in the process of developing students' interest in talent based on the empowering 8 model. This research was carried out at MAN 2 Langkat. The research method used the qualitative method and data triangulation (observation, FGD, and documentation) in the process of data collections. The results of this study indicate that the students of MAN 2 Langkat have generally applied the components of the empowering 8 literacy model in developing their interests and talents. However, there is a lack of several steps contained in the components of the empowering 8 model that have not been implemented, this encourages the strengthening of information literacy activity programs in schools to form students who are able to explore information effectively and use information ethically, so that creation, content, and information produced can be of higher quality.
