Data yang dikumpulkan tergolong data primer. Sumber data adalah langsung diperoleh dari masyarakat umum di Provinsi Bali tahun 2018, yakni dari Kabupaten Badung, Gianyar dan Buleleng sebagai sampel, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 30 responden. Penentuan wilayah sampel dan ukuran sampel dilakukan secara “purposive sampling”. Pengumpulan data primer dilakukan dengan metode angket (daftar pertanyaan atau kuesioner). Sedangkan analisis data digunakan Teknik Belah Dua (split half) dari Spearman Brown. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa instrumen TGM masyarakat umum di Provinsi Bali tahun 2018 adalah reliabel atau dengan kata lain telah lolos dari uji reliabilitas instrumen. Kata kunci : kegemaran membaca, instrumen dan reliabilitas. AbstractThe study aims to determine the reliability of the favorite reading level instrument of the general public in the Province of Bali in 2018. The data collected is classified as primary data. Data sources were directly obtained from the general public in Bali Province in 2018, namely from Badung Regency, Gianyar Regency, and Buleleng Regency as samples, with a total sample of 30 respondents. Determination of sample area and sample size was done by purposive sampling.Primary data collection is done by questionnaire method (list of questions). While the data analysis used a split half from Spearman Brown. The results of the study showed that the public reading instrument in Bali in 2018 was reliable or in other words had passed the instrument reliability test.keywords: hobby of reading, intsrument and reliability.
