Description Among the main activities in the field of library services is a service of the circulation. Circulationservices consist activities of borrowing and returning of library books. In serving pemustaka especiallyin circulation activities in Riau University Library has been using automation. But the automationsystem that has been developed yet to have a self-service device, which is a tool of circulationservices, especially borrowing and returning library materials that are able to serve themselves withoutthe help of a librarian. In this study, designed and built a machine independent as borrowing andrepayment activity vending machine in the circulation of library materials. The design is done in thisstudy consisted of perencangaan hardware (hardware), software design (software) and computernetwork design (netware). The hardware is prepared comprising a server device server machines aresupported by the software LAMP (Linux, Apache MySQL and PHP). Devices on the user side (cliendevice) consists of a PC (Personal Computer), Barcode, Barcode Reader, RFID Tag, RFID Reader,Receipt Printer and Networking Infrastructure. Once designed, then do all the preparation put into amachine that is ready to be used as a standalone borrowing and return machines. The results of thisstudy are two service machines circulation interactive and responsive, which is applied in conjunctionwith a library automation system in Riau University Library
