Implementation of information and communication technology has spawned a concept called a digital library. The concept aims to provide access to fast and accurate information to users. But in its implementation is not an easy matter, so the need for the role of librarians in its implementation. The role is the need for librarians to understand the concept of digital libraries so there is no misunderstanding between digital libraries and library automation, the need for librarians' role in ensuring ease of access to digital content, and the role of digital library development management system. In addition, in running the role of digital librarians, librarians are required to improve their competence related to the development of information and communication technology.
