Description The spread of academic institution works through IR is the easiest way to establish scientific communication among scientists. This movement is a critique of the publication of commercial journals that are too exploit the economic rights attached to the copyright holders. This paper tries to explore the discourse and best practise of dissemination of information in the form of final works and the results of research conducted by the UIN WS academic community. The data in this paper is collected based on in-depth interviews with the Head of LP2M UIN WS. Ideally UIN WS implements open access to all works, both final and research. UIN WS, through the Central Library only provides final works openly through the official page while the research results are limited. This is perceived as copyright protection from the final work and research results. According to open access movement, UIN WS is also very open to cooperate with Indonesia OneSearch which indexes institutional repository  works of members of cooperation, including UIN WS digital library.
